Dear BOLR Member,
This comes to update you on our ongoing discussions with SEIU Local 32BJ for a new Center City labor agreement. The negotiations began on September 3, at which time the union introduced its bargaining committee and presented their proposals for the new contract. We met with the union again on September 18, and presented our proposals and formally responded to the union’s demands. We continue to work on the issues and to strongly advocate on our members’ behalf. Although much work lies before us, we remain hopeful that we can reach an agreement acceptable to both parties. Our next bargaining session is scheduled for Thursday, October 1.
Because the contract expires on October 15, we want you to be prepared for all contingencies. In the unlikely event of a strike by workers covered under the BOLR City Section contract, it is important that you begin preparations now.

The most important point to stress is that all media inquiries should be handled by BOLR. As we get closer to the end of the contract, and if the union threatens to strike, public and media interest will grow significantly. Because dozens of buildings, hundreds of tenants and numerous contractors would be affected, it is important that we speak through one voice, especially while talks are still underway. Please direct any media inquiries to BOLR through the BOMA office.
