Responsibilities

  • Provides educational and networking events directly related to industry leadership development.

  • Manages the BOMA Philadelphia mentoring program.

Building Leaders is a 12-month program designed to help commercial real estate professionals learn skills needed to become a leader in the industry and the association while creating a community and strong network within BOMA Philadelphia.

Program benefits include exclusive education provided by leading professionals, mentor/protégé relationship that will enhance career insight & personal growth; access to an array of established BOMA Philadelphia events; and private special events to foster industry relationships.

Ideal candidates are dedicated to growing within the industry and association. Candidates must be a BOMA Philadelphia Regular Member in good standing OR employed by a BOMA Philadelphia Regular Member company/building. Participation is limited to 8 individuals.

Building Leadership Program Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must be a BOMA Philadelphia Regular Member in good standing OR employed by a BOMA Philadelphia Regular Member company/building.

  • No more than one employee per member company/building will be selected per year. However, each company is encouraged to submit multiple candidates. If there are not enough candidates for the program, the Committee CAN select more than one individual per company.

  • Applicant must have worked in the commercial real estate industry (specifically property management) for less than 7 years total.

  • A letter of recommendation and acknowledgement by the candidate’s immediate supervisor or other member of senior management is required.

  • Applicant must commit to attend ALL Building Leadership sessions (and have permission from employer).

  • Failure to participate in all sessions could result in dismissal from the program.

  • Submissions for 2023 have closed. We are taking the year 2024 off with the return of this program in 2025.
