Cervical Health Awareness Month in January provides education, promotes prevention,; supports Cervical Cancer Survivors, Patients, Caregiver, Stakeholders and honors those who battled cervical cancer and now eternally rest from the fight. Cervical Cancer is the first cancer with a global elimination plan with the goal to reach elimination within the next generation’s lifetime. 79 million Americans are said to have human papilloma virus (HPV), which can cause cervical cancer. So it is imperative to get the word out.. “Vax. Screen. Treat.” And although men cannot get cervical cancer themselves because they have no cervix. Men can however spread HPV to intimate partners . Men can develop other HPV related cancers of the head, neck, penis and anus. And there is no comparable diagnostic testing like females have available to date to screen for cancer causing HPV in males. Everyone needs to learn more about how they can help end cervical cancer. And lightning buildings teal and white can be extremely effective for this outcome to be reached.
